CAP-able is a Information Measures relating to the Common Agricultural
Policy Programme coordinated by Organization Earth.
The aim of the project is to raise awareness and build trust among the young generations in Europe, in particular school children, teachers, and university students, about the importance of supporting the future of sustainable agriculture in Europe, therefore the future CAP with the
respect to economic, social and environmental aspects. By creating and Preferences distributing a "CAP-able e-platform" and implementing experiential workshops, the "CAP-able students” will be encouraged to change their attitudes and behaviors in the field of climate change, food systems, and move towards better lifestyle choices for high quality and healthy food.
Active learning activities and education through playing
Through the CAP-able programme, Organization Earth organized experiential learning workshops in our environmental learning centre "Centre of the Earth". The "Open Farm - From Farm to Fork" workshops included activities for all ages, with themes such as: sustainable farming, the new CAP, protecting biodiversity, and reducing food waste.
Moreover, we organized info days and webinars in schools, showcasing the digital educational material (games, videos) created for the project and different usages for educational purposes.
Finally, the "Farm to Fork - Hackathon" was organized in Organization Earth's offices at K44, Athens, where students participated in a noncompetitive Hackathon (with an award for every participant) and discussed ways to combat climate change through sustainable farming, as well as
best cases of environmental educational centres.
